The Week Lisa Bear Was Definitely NOT Checking the Website...Per Rowan Bear
🍂 STORIES FROM THE HOLLOW 🍂
The Week Lisa Bear Was Definitely Not Checking the Website
This week at The Autumn Hollow began with a very important decision.
Lisa Bear was not going to check the website.
The website designer was working. He knew what he was doing. He had been given instructions. There was absolutely no reason whatsoever for Lisa Bear to hover.
“I am going to leave him alone and let him work,” Lisa Bear announced confidently.
Rowan Bear looked up from his tea.
“Excellent plan.”
And for a while, all was peaceful in the Hollow.
The birds chirped. The squirrels conducted whatever questionable business squirrels conduct when no one is watching. The kettle was on.
Approximately eleven minutes passed.
Lisa Bear casually picked up her phone.
Rowan Bear looked over the rim of his mug.
“What are you doing?”
“Nothing.”
“You opened the website.”
“I am NOT checking it. I just wanted to see something.”
“That is checking it.”
“No, Rowan. Checking it would mean I was checking it. I am merely… observing its current condition.”
Rowan Bear slowly reached for his clipboard.
WEBSITE PEEKS: 1
🍁🍁🍁
Now, to Lisa Bear's credit, the website was looking beautiful.
Cozy. Warm. Welcoming. Very much like The Autumn Hollow.
There were still a few things to finish, but overall Lisa Bear was thrilled.
So naturally, she made another responsible adult decision:
“I won't look again for a couple of days.”
Rowan Bear stared at her.
Lisa Bear stared back.
Somewhere outside, a squirrel stopped what he was doing just to listen.
“Do you want me to write that down?” Rowan asked.
“No need.”
Rowan wrote it down.
🍁🍁🍁
With the website officially NOT BEING CHECKED, Lisa Bear suddenly had free time.
This is where things became dangerous.
Because an unsupervised Lisa Bear with free time does not rest.
She gets ideas.
One innocent tea recipe appeared.
Then another.
There was orange peel.
There were apples.
There was cinnamon.
There were cloves.
There was ginger.
There was star anise.
There were discussions.
There were names.
And before Rowan Bear fully understood what was happening, Lisa Bear had created an entire fall tea collection.
THE COZY KETTLE COLLECTION.
Rowan looked at the growing list.
Orchard Morning.
Fireside Chai.
Harvest Hearth.
Hollow Hearth.
The Cozy Kettle.
Lantern Glow.
Orange Ember.
Rowan blinked.
“I thought you were taking it easy while we waited for the website.”
“I AM.”
“This is an entire tea collection.”
“Yes.”
“That you just created.”
“Yes.”
“While relaxing.”
“Exactly.”
Rowan Bear made another note on his clipboard:
Lisa Bear's definition of resting remains under investigation.
☕🍂☕
Meanwhile, The Autumn Hollow continued happily along.
Posts were made.
Other small businesses were celebrated.
Fall goodies made their appearances.
Reels traveled off into the mysterious lands of Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
The Cozy Kettle grew.
The website designer continued working.
And Lisa Bear remained remarkably well behaved.
Mostly.
There may have been another tiny website peek.
But in Lisa Bear's defense, it wasn't technically a peek.
She simply happened to type in the exact website address, wait for it to load, scroll around and look at everything.
Completely different.
Rowan Bear updated the clipboard.
WEBSITE PEEKS: We have stopped counting.
🍂🍂🍂
And somehow, by the end of the week, something wonderful had happened.
The website was becoming even cozier than before.
The fall collection was coming together.
The tea cupboard had gained an entire new family.
The Hollow kept growing.
Not wildly.
Not overnight.
But the way we like things around here.
Slowly.
Steadily.
One warm little corner at a time.
So perhaps this week's lesson from the Hollow is this:
Sometimes waiting is hard.
Sometimes trusting someone else with something you love is even harder.
And sometimes the best way to stop yourself from checking the website every eleven minutes…
…is apparently to create seven teas.
The website survived.
The tea collection grew.
The debit card remained safely under Rowan Bear's protective custody.
And somewhere in The Autumn Hollow, Rowan Bear quietly took a sip of tea and wondered whether Lisa Bear would ever learn the actual definition of the phrase:
“Take the day off.”
Probably not.
And honestly?
The Hollow wouldn't be quite the same if she did.
🍁🐻☕🐻🍁
Until next week's Stories from the Hollow…
The kettle is always on.
Stay cozy, friends. 🍂
